Gold Medal 90pts - Wine Showcase Magazine 2014

The dry grown Grenache vines on our Foggo Rd vineyard were planted in 1928, so have now been producing for over 80 or ‘Four Score’ years. Grenache has long been one of those staples of McLaren Vale and our old vines have once again produced a superb wine we know any wine lover will truly appreciate. Italian food is perfect company for this flavoursome wine. Colour - Deep red. Nose - Complex nose of berry and spice with deep intensity combined with subtle oak maturation in older barrels. Palate - Again complex with layers of flavour dominated by spice and ripe berries. The flavours are full and balanced with a fine tannin finish. Cellaring - The wine shows all the hallmarks of a great Grenache vintage in McLaren Vale. Several years cellaring will add further complexity to a very well balanced wine.
