James Halliday Recommendation - Deep, dense and dark; archetypal McLaren Vale, almost into a caricature, redolent of dark chocolate closing on 90% cocoa solids; has great length, and the alcohol is irrelevant in a highly structured wine. Left field, but very good.... Rating 94!
The 2010 season produced intense fruit, which translated to a rich concentrated Shiraz wine. The wine has all the attributes of a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz and will reward those who wish to cellar it. A wine of great complexity that will overwhelm your senses with its massive power and grip. Colour - Deep red. Nose - Complex nose of ripe berries and plum with touches of spice, cedar and vanilla. Palate - Rich, concentrated and long with flavours of fully ripe Shiraz complemented by oak notes of cedar and vanilla from maturation in 300 litre barrels of predominantly French oak. The tannins are firm and ripe and will help to ensure a long life for this classic McLaren Vale Shiraz. Cellaring - A magnificent McLaren Vale Shiraz that will cellar for many years.
