The Shiraz from our Squid Ink block again produced a consistently magnificent intense wine. The grapes from these vines are rich deep purple almost black in colour which leave a dark dye, like the ink from a freshly caught Squid. Squid Ink Shiraz will leave it’s mark on you. Colour - Deep intense red. Nose - A complex nose of ripe berry and spice notes with some cedary oak lift. Palate - Rich complex flavours of ripe berry and spice flow onto the palate with a concentrated mouthfeel indicative of a great vintage. Oak complexity is adding to the wine’s flavour and the finish shows a firm but balanced tannin structure. Cellaring - Bottle maturation for 7-10 years will add another layer of flavour and allow the integration of the tannins.
