Select quality grapes alcohol is re-distilled with anise seeds in copper alembics. For the production of Efe Göbek, only a limited amount of the 3rd fraction of the alembic distillation is used. Since this fine spirit is taken from the middle part of the alembic, this type raki is referred to as "göbek", "the belly". Efe Göbek is then matured for an even smoother finish for a minimum period of 120 days. Taken from the belly of the alembic through finer distillation for a smoother spirit.
